Holi curry, that is a lot of color!!!! ;)

The country of India holds about 1.16 BILLION people. That's like 18% of the entire world's population, causing for a very interesting mix of people, culture and traditions. With delicious curry, vivid spices and unique and brilliant festival/holidays. The most recent of which was the Festival of Colour, Holi. It is celebrated on the last full moon of the lunar month Phalguna (usually late February, early March) and this year it was on March, 24. The people of India dress in white to be a blank canvass for strangers, family, poor and the rich alike to paint on and have colorful powders and water thrown on them in the open streets. The holiday was originally for warding off evil spirits, but now it is where the people of India share happiness to each other through bright and vibrant colors. Would you want to join in on the festivities if you were there?

  1. This festival reminds me of the Color Run, where you have paint sprayed at you while you run. I have always wanted to visit India, because of it's food and lifestyle. after reading this it makes me want to go there even more. I would love to have colorful spices being sprayed at me. I have always wanted to look like a box of crayons threw up on me. It just seems like a fun and creative way to spread happiness and enjoy time with others
