Japan's 9.0 earthquake

In 2011, Japan had a 9.0 earthquake that moved the main island, Honshu, more than 2 meters to the East. That wasn’t Japan’s only problem, the earthquake caused a tsunami that made 40 meter high waves. More than 20,000 people died or went missing. The first wave crashed against the nuclear plant’s 10 meter high wall. The plant’s emergency power generators in the basement were flooded soon, causing fuel rods to begin to meltdown and leak deadly radiation into the surrounding area. Within 16 hours, the rod had completely melted with 2 others close behind. It would be another 88 days until the government admitted that a meltdown had taken place. It was the worst nuclear disaster since the Chernobyl incident in 1986. Japan is still suffering the effects. What can you do to help?
