Not My Fault!

A long time ago, a person named Cassandra told a group of people that they were going to die soon, but did they listen? No, they did not, but if someone told you, you were going to leave good old earth in a small amount of time would you believe them? For example, Cassandra was one of the many daughters of the king of Troy, Cassandra was rumoured to have been advanced upon by none other than Apollo, (the sunshiney dude) ,when she refused to have any more encounters with him (smart!) he cursed her with the gift of prophecy but no one would believe her(not so smart) Cassandra predicted that one of the bad men of Troy would die, but he didn't believe her, a while later he died at the hands of his own wife, (he must have spilt wine over the floor one too many times) long story short: he died. The lesson: PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR FUTURE! That was my interpretation of the assignment, what do you think, would you believe some random future-telling lady??

UGGHHH!!! No one will listen to meee

Would you trust someone if they told you that you are going to die in the next couple hours? Well, no one believed Cassandra even though she was right. No one trusted the people that said the spaceship wasn't going to be a success. Would you ignore the weatherman even though he says it is important? Sometimes people ignore warnings and signs but maybe its because they have lied amlot before, or always joke around. You might also think its a rumor. But would someone not listen to a serious warning? Why would we do that even if we know it could affect our health?  I don't know, neither do other people? How would you see if they are telling the truth and something really is going to happen.

The Cassandra Curse

Could all disasters be prevented?  Do some people know things about any major disasters that others didn't? This podcast had me thinking, was the cassandra curse actually real or were people back then just crazy? In a way I feel like this curse might actually be real. In past experiences I have told someone not to do something and they did it anyway and consequences came with their bad decisions. Well I must say if a stranger came up to me and said that I would choke on the gum that I was about to put in my mouth I would chew the gum anyway. I would think that the person telling me that was losing their mind. That's exactly what happened to cassandra. She told people what was going to happen to them and they thought she was absolutely crazy. Would you have believed Cassandra? Honestly I would not.

The cassandra curse

Do you think that you would listen to a complete stranger if they told you that you were going to die? Well I know that I would probably not, but maybe we should? Cassandra knew that something very bad was going to happen so she told everybody in her village but nobody listened to her. I mean why should they I would think that she was crazy and had a problem or something!  But maybe some people would listen. Would you?

Let it die, let it die

(I tried again!!!!!)

you know those people that just don't ever listen to and when they die you're like, 'yup, I told you so' that's what happened to Cassandra I-don't-have-a-last-name. Cass was one of the King of Troy's kids (god knows how many he had) Cass happened to be cursed by the salty God of prophecies because she didn't send him any offerings, boohoo to him. Anyway, the curse was no one would listen to her warnings and boo! they'll all end up dead. the dead part wasn't part of the curse... FO EXAMP! Cass got this vision where the evil dude of Troy would die. She tried to warn him, but oh well,  he died by the hands of his oh so evil wife, there was other stuff that I would've listed if I had enough motivation. Fortunately, I don't, it's Sunday, Pre-Monday. you get the idea.

The Cassandra Curse

Cassandra was probably only twenty-six when she died, but she had warned the Trojans
about two disastrous prophecies. One about the Greeks invading the Trojans, and
another about Agamemnon’s wife killing him.

When Cassandra was first born, she had been placed a
curse that acted as a gift. The power to tell the future. This might seem like a
major plus to the curse, but everything good always has something bad about it.
And that was speaking in cryptic riddles, which didn’t help her to pass the prophecy
through the people, even if she was one of the many children of King Priam. After the
Trojans had battled Greece, the thought they had won because the Greek soldiers gave Troy a present. A large wooden horse. Cassandra warned her people to not open the gates, telling them in the prophetic language that the great downfall of Troy would occur. No one listened, and by morning, 75% of the population was slaughtered. This happened again when Cassandra tried to warn General Agamemnon of his wife, Clytemnestra, slaughtering him.
This tells us that we usually ignore signs that foresee our future when it tells us something bad.

Would you believe Cassandra?

Cassandra has a blessing that is really a curse. She can see the future, but no one will believe her. But even if you set aside the curse, it turns out she also did several things that made it less likely she would be believed. For one thing, her prophecies were opaque. When she revealed her visions, she spoke in language that was a little hard to understand. Even though she knew that the spaceship wasn't going to be a success they ignored her. Would you ignore the weatherman or a hurricane warning? How can we know that a person that we don't even know is tellings us the truth? Why do we ignore signs that can cause something serious?

The Cassandra Curse

On January 28, 1986, the challenger spacecraft lifted off of earth and was in the sky for about a minute and then it exploded. As soon as everyone heard it they looked up and saw that everything had gone wrong. Scientists warned them it might be dangerous to be on the spacecraft when it was lifting off but no one believed them. The Cassandra Curse was about a woman who was able to see the future that means whenever she knew something was going to happen and she told someone they, of course, didn't believe her. Cassandra predicted that the captor and he would get murdered and Cassandra was in a house and pretending to be a slave when she and the captor got murdered but before she got murdered she told the captor that they were going to get murdered but he, of course, didn't believe her.

Why we don't listen to all warnings/The Cassandra Curse

What I learned about is that we sometimes ignore warnings. Now,I think we sometimes ignore them because we think that whatever we are being warned about will not affect us. It will only affect the people who are warnings others. But that's not actually not true!! If someone is trying to warn us then maybe we should At Least listen to the warning before deciding whether we think it is true or not. If we listen to the warning then if it sounds fake, we probably won't do anything about it or worry about it. If it sounds real, then we might do something about. Although here's the thing, If we do not listen to the warning then we won't know whether to believe it or not cause we would not know what the warning is about. We only try to do something about it when it has already started or when it is too late. Or we might do something if we actually here an alarm that we know represents a certain danger when is going off. So if we listen to to what people are warning us about then maybe it might not affect us OR it might not even happen cause someone might do something that might prevent it from happening or at least not be as bad as it would be if nobody were to do anything about it. which why we should listen to the warnings being spread about something(s).

The Cassandra Curse, the more logical explanation of it

The challenger spacecraft exploded while millions of people watch in horror on January
28, 1986. Then people started talking about the "cassandra curse" and she became
popular again. Cassandra was a princess and was the daughter of Troy. She had many
examples of situations where people don’t believe her and then catastrophic things
then happen. I disagree with most of the people on the Hop’s Blog post because why
would people believe a random stranger about a warning. Most of the disaster
warnings have a small chance of happening, but when it happens most people blame
the disaster on the people who didn’t listen to the warnings. But the people who didn’t
listen made the right choice because most disasters have a small chance of happening
so if they listen to everyone then the challenger spacecraft would have never been
used because of all the warnings they listen to. Also, most things we do all have a
small percent of a chance of becoming a disaster like driving a car, you could die in a
car accident with a 0.00970873786% of dying according to google. This is why we
can’t believe the warnings that have a small chance of happening or else we wouldn’t
have been in space right now.

The Cassandra Curse:the eye of the future

On January 28,1986, the challenger spacecraft lifted off of the earth and was in the sky for about a  minute and then an explosion was heard from the sky's above. When everyone heard it they all looked up and saw that everything has gone wrong, the space challenger exploded. And scientist days before warned them that it might be dangerous to be on the challenger while it was taking off.But yet  no one believed them, but then people started wondering what could've happened and if someone knew but just didn't say anything or someone knew and said something and nothing was done but the real reason was someone knew and said something and wasn't believed. And there was a story called cassandra's curse that was really similar to what happened that day cossandra was a women that had a power that gave her the ability to see into the future and she would tell someone about it and no one would believe her. She warned her hometown not to bring a huge horse that was filled with army and was used to get into her village as a trick to be a gift and at night the soldiers snuck out of the horse and slaughtered the people in the village and the cassandra curse is being able to know whats gonna happen and telling someone or even a whole village and not being believed

Why Didn't People Listen??

Cassandra Curse is all about a woman who was able to see the future.  That means she was able to see when something was going to happen, but whenever she told somebody that something was about to happen they didn't believe her.  Lets say were in Florida and Cassandra tells you that your house will catch on fire in 30 minutes.  You say no it won't but then you go home and your house is in flames. Would you listen to Cassandra?

Nobody Believed Her...

The Cassandra Curse was a major problem.People ignored hurricane warnings, ship explosions, and the lift off. And today people are still ignoring major problems like issues with the atmosphere such as pollution, plastic overuse, and trash finding its way into oceans, and instead of helping it, they ignore it and make it worse. Something that's still pushing me over is why people didn't listen even after the first crisis.why do you think some stuff is acknowledged and others aren't?

why wont anyone listen?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bet you that many times in your life someone you knew or knew of told you, or warned you not to do something. Did you head their warnings? I f you didn't you might just find your self in a situation you weren't planning or wanted to be in. This always brings you back to the Cassandra Curse. Cassandra was the daughter of the king of troy. She has a special curse that lets her see the future. no one would believe her. in one instance, she predicted that her master and she herself would get murdered. but of course, just like anybody and everybody, he didn't believe her. then she and her master were killed by his own wife. just like when some scientists warned that the challenger spacecraft wasn't safe yet, or there were still kinks to work out and check. But, like Cassandra, no considered that to be true or heeded their warnings. Then, only about 73 seconds after liftoff, the spacecraft known as the Challenger exploded ion mid-air. Just to show again, that just because you think or don't believe it's possible, doesn't mean you should just ignore or disregard their warnings.
The plane had exploded about a minute after it had lifted off from the ground. This all brings you back to the Cassandra curse. Cassandra was the daughter of the king of Troy. The Cassandra curse was a curse put on Cassandra that made her be able to see the future but no one would believe her. One example of a situation when no one would believe her when she saw the future is when Cassandra predicts that her captor and herself will get murdered.  If only he would have believed Cassandra he might not have been murdered by his own wife. Cassandra couldn't have done anything about herself self though she was trapped in a house acting as a slave when she was murdered. This related to the spacecraft exploding because scientists warned people that the shuttle might not be safe but nobody believed them. This shows that just because it doesn't sound logical doesn't mean you shouldn't believe them.

Cassandra was the daughter of Priam. King of Troy. In greek mythology she was a prophet. She was gifted with being able to tell the future but she was cursed with no one ever believing her. She spoke in a cryptic language which DID NOT add to her credibility. Other things that don’t add to her credibility are: she asks too much of the people she warns. She also asked the people she wanted to warn to go way out of their comfort zone. This was repeated when the engineers working on the Challenger told the heads of the project that there was a problem with the space shuttle before it was launched. But then the heads ignored them and launched the shuttle. This will keep on happening unless we change!

You Didn't Listen And Now You Will All Die. Hahaha

It all started on January 28, 1986. The Challenger spacecraft blasted off from Cape Canaveral, making history as one of the most successful launches ever. Yay! Nope, just kidding. It failed horribly. No more than a minute after it left the ground, it exploded into a beautiful ensemble of flames, smoke, and debris. All because one guy decided the patience of American citizens was not the greatest, and the possibility of losing one life was nothing. It came down to this: Somebody knew there was something wrong with the spacecraft and didn't say anything or, if they did, their warnings were ignored. That story is in great similarity to Cassandra's cursed life. Cassandra was the Trojan princess whose confusing warnings were ignored, leading to the downfall of Troy. Technically, it wasn't her fault. Cassandra was just a normal Trojan princess until she caught Apollo's eye. If you don't know who Apollo is, what have you been doing with your life? Anyways, Apollo gave her the gift of prophecy but cursed her when she pretty much refused to have sex with him. He cursed her so nobody would believe her prophecies. Another problem was when she was making her fancy shmancy prophecies, she spoke in the prophet language, which was super confusing. I don't understand why she couldn't have repeated her prophecy in a normal language after. If I were Cassandra, it wouldn't matter if I was cursed. I'd be smart enough to know nobody could understand what prophecy I was making, and then translate. Everybody would believe me. Such a simple solution, but whatever. So Cassandra makes a prophecy about how the horse was not a gift and if they accepted it they would all die, but everyone was like "Yeah, whatever. Shut up, Cassandra. You're a liar and we do what we want." They pretty much all died. Hahahahaha. An example of an effective Cassandra would be Andrew Natsios. He talked to members of the Bush administration about escalating violence in Sudan. He was effective because instead of just warning them, he was able to show further escalation with hundreds of thousands of people dead. He commissioned a study to predict how many more would die if the U.S. didn't step in. Andrew got pictures of villages being burnt. Another edge he had on Cassandra was he was close to several presidents, including Bush. Over the next several years, the U.S supplied billions of dollars to Sudan, just in time. So, the lesson of this story is, be straightforward with your warnings, make sure everybody can understand what you're trying to say, and don't just say something, do something. Okay, if you made it to the end of my post, congratulations. You have very good taste.

The Cassandra Curse

Cassandra was a Greek Mythology women, born to King Priam and Queen Hecuba of Troy.
She was cursed to state true prophecies and have no one believe her. In the most common stories it's been said that the god Apollo had admired Cassandra so he offered her the gift of telling the future, hoping to win her over with it. She promised him favors in return for the gift, but after receiving her gift she refused to hold up her end of the bargain. Apollo was furious but he couldn't take back her new power, instead he added on to the curse. She could still state true prophecies but no one would believe her. In other stories Cassandra held up her end of the bargain but the curse was claimed as an achievement.

Cassandra's Curse

Cassandra was a person who could predict the future, but nobody believed her. The reason the peoples didn't believe her is that she was an outsider. Outsiders don't get listened to or believed because they don't trust the outsiders. There have been a lot of accidents because they didn't listen to the warning from the outsiders. Like the explosion of Nasa's rocket. The manager didn't listen to the engineer and had to face the bigger problem and I bet he is regretting it right now on this very second. Even it's the outsider we should listen to the warning they tell us.

the cassandria Curse

Cassandria was woman in greek mythology, cursed to utter true prophecies but never to be believed. Cassandria was the daughter of king Priam and queen Hecuba of troy. the oder most common versions state that she was admired by the god apollo who thought to win her with the gift to see the futcher. In return she promised him her favors but after receiving the gift she refused the gift. The enraged Apollo could not revoke the divine power, so her added to her curse that she could see the feather but no one would believe her. in other sources, Cassandria broke no promises and the power was given to her as an achievement.

The Cassandra Curse: Why Does Cant anyone listen to her?

To me the Cassandra curse is very interesting, because it shows that you need to listen to people if something bad is coming, The Cassandra Curse is about a girl named Cassandra who can see the future. That's pretty crazy! That should make her the ruler of everything, right? Well the truth is no because no one believes her, no matter what. She predicted many bad things that happened and still no one believes her! What would you do if someone came to you, and told you a disaster is coming? What would you say? What would you do?

It all started with a plane crash...

Once the plane crash happened in Alaska, people realized that the government failed them. That's what they thought though. When 2 people went exploring into a cave and they were decaying plants and animals. The organic material stored in the permafrost thaws and cause the animals to decay. More decomposition leads to more carbon in the planet. Rising temperatures lead to more decaying. And since the glaciers were melting, that leads to rising temperatures. What do you think leads to the temperatures rising?

The Cassandra Curse

The cassandra curse was a very major problem. But the thing is, she knew what was going to happen, so she was trying to inform people but nobody listened, in fact they thought that she was crazy. But slowly her whole life changed. I don't understand why they even ignored stuff like the lift off problem or the hurricane warning, or the ship explosion. this just confused me.They just did not trust her. Would you guys trust her, even after all of this?

What Things Can We Believe Anymore?

Well first you can never believe me ever:) But when the Space Shuttle Challenger launched, about a minute after launch, it killed all on board. Also, most people aren’t concerned about our decaying planet, and climate change, which WILL impact all organisms on earth one day. This includes the melting of permafrost and greenhouse gasses being released into our atmosphere.

Image result for trojan horseThis was also about a girl who could see horrible events happening later in her life. Because of this, she saw something horrid happen. she saw soldiers from Greece that came out of a horse's butt. She tried to warn everyone but no one cared. This ended up to be a horrid event. If someone was telling you your car is going to blow up or something? What would you say?

Who to trust?

By: Shriya Chahal

“The Cassandra Curse,” you must think whats is this going to be about? Well, this one is a major problem. Cassandra had the power to see the future but when a horrific event was going to happen no one would listen. Even though she knew what was going to happen they ignored her, but why? Why do we ignore hurricane warnings? Why did we ignore the warning that the lift-off may go wrong and the space ship was going to explode? Why do we ignore climate change? Why do we not trust people? These are all questions we need to ask ourselves. But there is another problem is the warning true, is it just some rumor or a serious warning? But the only fact here is would you rather be safe than sorry?

The Cassandra Curse... BAHAHAHAHAAHA!!!!!!????

Cassandra, the smart woman that told the future. Why is it that people are so ignorant? Not just now a days, but back then too. The story of Cassandra was (in my opinion) very interesting. Cassandra was a woman who warned her town that something bad was going to happen. No one listened to her and went on with their daily lives. Until that bad thing happened, the space craft had exploded 73 seconds after it was launched. Hmmm, you might be thinking. Don't worry, that's what I was think too when I learned about Cassandra, the daughter of the King of Troy. Sometimes warnings are just a bunch of hocus pocus but other times, not so much. You should always be aware of things when someone warns you, even if it sounds outrageous.

Cassandra's Problem

A lot of times in life, warnings that turn out to be relevant, are ignored. For example, pollution in the air and sea, as well as increasing carbon dioxide amounts in the atmosphere. These have become more than just warnings, however, people still ignore them; we still don’t recycle and we still don’t mind not having filters in our cars. Why do we still not react to these warnings?
Cassandra was one special girl, but, you may all agree, I do not envy her. People don’t
listen to me enough already (which is good for both them and me because I’m often not right), but Cassandra could literally see the future, yet no one listened! That was because, in my opinion, Cassandra had a problem: she did not speak clearly, nor was she understanding.
Most of the time, if others do not acknowledge my warnings to what I know to be true. So,
I just wait for them to see that I am right after I pressure them with proof, and shove evidence in their face, all while politely disagreeing- and, in my view, that is the key: to be polite and understanding. If you’re not, why would they even want to listen to you??
I just wonder why it seems nobody else cares?

The Cassandra's Curse

Cassandra's Curse is about a woman who could see the future. She saw something terrible that she didn't want to happen. She saw that there were greek soldiers that would come from the trojan horse, but nobody cared. The woman tried over and over again to warn them, but the event happened anyway. She also got killed by a axe which is pretty tragic. Anyway, If you were in that situation what would you do?
Image result for trojan horse

Will we ignore the warning again?

Cassandra was an ancient prophet who happened to be one of the many daughters of the king of Troy. The Trojans were amidst a war with the Greeks and times were harsh. Suddenly all Greek soldier had left Troy and left a "piece offering" in the shape of a wooden horse at the gates of the city. Cassandra knew that the wooden horse was full of highly trained Greek soldiers and tried to spread the word, but no one listened. Leaders of Troy debated bringing the Wooden horse into the city for days before finally letting the horse through. Greeks sprung out of the horse slaughtering many innocent civilians, Thus born " The Trojan Horse."
Now we see warning from a area in Alaska called the Alaskan Permafrost. This has multiple gigatons of Carbon Dioxide in it, and it's melting a little more each day. If this Carbon is released into the air we will see permanent effects on our planet due to Global Warming. Ignoring this warning could be one of the biggest catastrophe yet.

Welp, They are Dead

Shortly after the Challenger launched off on January 28, 1986, it exploded in mid-air. All seven people on the Challenger died from the explosion. Millions of people watched in horror when trails of smoke and debris were falling down in different directions. But many years ago, the king of Troy, Priam had many children. One of them was a girl named Cassandra. Cassandra had a gift but that gift is really a curse. The curse she has is her being able to look into the future. She can look into her future and see her own death. She could also see other peoples. Even though she could, nobody ever believed her. She could also see bad events that will happen. If anyone ever warns you about something, you should take that advice.

What Warnings Should we Believe?

It was 33 years ago on January 28, 1986, when the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion killed seven people precisely 73 seconds after launch, after there were concerns about the spacecraft’s safety. In this day in age, people choose to ignore warnings about our decaying planet and concerns about rising sea levels. Why is it that we ignore warnings about things we know will hurt us?

This dates back to a Greek Prophet, who was burdened with never being believed. Her name was Cassandra and she was the daughter of the King of Troy. Before the end of the Trojan war, a wooden horse was brought to the front gates of the kingdom of Troy as a “peace offering,” where really, it was a trick. When the kingdom was debating on bringing in the horse or not, Cassandra saw into the future and saw that it would lead to catastrophe. Nobody believed her, but when chaos struck, her kingdom was destroyed. After this, people still didn’t believe her warnings of the future.

So why is it that the humankind ignores warnings that will benefit their wellbeing? When it comes to our safety, the planet's safety, and our communities safety, how do we know which warnings to listen to, and which ones are false?

Well, it was bound to happen. We can agree on that, right?

Um, Cassandra had some issues. I honestly cannot say that I can relate to her, because, y'know, I can't see the future or anything, but I'm pretty sure I get the main message here: humanity as a whole is a bit of an idiot. Now, hear me through. Take the Trojan Horse, for example. Did no one consider the fact that a random gift was a little bit suspicious? Not even an ordinary gift, but a horse.
A wooden one.
I mean, just let that sink in. Were non-living, absolutely useless horses trendy back then? I'm actually curious.
The modern day equivalent of the Trojan Horse would be an Amazon box covered in construction paper, topped with a pair of cat ears, that makes noises when shaken. You know I'm right. Would you be suspicious? I know I would, but because the cat is 'cute', it's probably overlooked.
Oh, and to top it all off, they actually had a warning beforehand. Yeah, did I forget to mention that? It was Cassandra.
Now, since I like this theme of comparing ancient objects and people to modern things, let's do this with Cassandra. Cassandra was the equivalent of an accurate Wikipedia, that no one trusts. Since no one trusts information given from Wikipedia, they don't listen to it when it tells them that FedEx will attack. And of course, when the cardboard cat appears on your front porch, it is welcomed into your home, where destruction will reign. Now, because of your own ignorance, literally every single large company knows where you live, because the Amazon box shaped like a cat probably had a tracker in it. Or something. I don't know exactly, I'm just passing along information.
Oh, and Wiki dies anyway.
With an ax.
To the head.
Or something metaphorical like that (haha).
Sometimes, we just need to really use common sense, just for a minute, and think about what we should do before we make a decision. It's really that simple. Think things through. That's probably a better lesson than 'humanity as a whole is an idiot' anyway.
I was wondering if anyone else can think of a time where problems were avoided or solved just by thinking things through. Please let me know in the comments, and I'll see y'all later.

the cassandra curse

Cassandra was a woman that got cursed and was able to see the bad things that would happen before they did but she was never believed by the Greeks because she had no power. The Cassandra was the daughter of King Priam and Queen Hecuba of Troy. But one night an enemy attack happened they all came out of the horse that was a gift u could say and they killed every person, cassandra was the only one alive she sooned die cause of her visions not being believed. And the curse was that she was powerless and nobody would listen to her.

The cassandra curse thoughts and reflection

The Cassandra curse is about a young woman named Cassandra who is given the ability to predict and prophecied the future. The only problem was that Cassandra spoke in very elaborate and complicated riddles. Many people couldn't understand her and thus didn't believe her, causing many deaths and tragedies. For example, during the Trojan war, Cassandra knew that the horse had people in it and was going to be used to destroy the people of troy, but no one believed her and troy soon fell.  Later in her life, Cassandra was killed with an axe.  Why did no one listen to her? not only was it because of her riddles, but I think it's because humans have a tendency to hear information and completely ignore it, leading to future calamity.
Take the NASA space shuttle of 1986 for example.  On that day, a space shuttle exploded.  And it's not like anybody didn't know either, the engineers had seen errors in the system but were completely ignored, causing the death of the person inside.
this is another example of people giving out warnings. But instead of people giving warnings, it is the climate giving warnings. The permafrost is melting, giving way to deceased plants and animals that are increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere by 2x.  Glaciers are melting and the sea level is rising because of this.  More and more natural disasters are happening. Yet no one decides to do something about it.  What do you think about these reoccurring instances of warnings and ignorance? What do you think people could do to make warnings seem more disastrous? Tell me in the comments.

(Insert the meme with the crime where a kid witness made a stick figure to help the cops) Anyways Curses!

You know the good ol' fortune-tellers, that everyone makes fun of because they always sound ridiculous. At some point, there was a true fortune-teller that actually tells you the truth. Back in ancient Rome was attempting to conquer Troy (The place that had a castle way before it was cool). There was this person named Cassandra. She knew every single thing that was going to happen but no one would listen to her. In fact, if Troy had listened to her Troy might still be standing today. However, no one listened to her. (Trojan horse almost more like Fail-an horse)

Whoops, Everybody's Dead Now.

looks like someone didn't listen to little ol' cassandra did they? now everyone has died, and who's fault is that? she tried to warn you didn't she? but you didn't listen. and Nobody listened. so here we all are.

Oh, that was weird. Looks like I just blacked out for a second.

Anyway... The Cassandra Curse was about the prophet Cassandra and her curse. (Wow, who would've guessed...) This myth focused on the fact that when you don't give the more understated voices of society the time of day everyone suffers, including you and said voices. It shows the importance of just listening, and ties in exponentially to the modern day. Th-

Whoops, blacked out again... Ok, here's a challenge, go outside and pick up a leaf. Done? Now press your ear up to it. Hear anything? No? Well, it's a leaf what were you expecting? You do know that you shouldn't do everything the internet tells you to do, right? But maybe the next time the leaf will say something. Or maybe it'll stay quiet, but you'll never know unless you Listen.

this leaf looks ready to strike up a conversation.

Is Cassandra a fortune teller, or is she just very smart?

Cassandra was very talented in being able to predict what is going to happen. Though she knew what she could do, nobody else did and never listened to her. An example of that when she told the person she was working for that his wife was having an affair and was going to kill him, he decided not to listen to her and brushed her off. Little did he know that what she said was true and he would soon die. Being ignored was normal for her though, because she had one hundred siblings! I know I wouldn't like having as little attention as she did. What kind of feeling do you think you would have to get these powers?

Cassandra curse

What if people listened to and trusted Cassandra. Would the world be the same would people have a better or worse life? Cassandra was a god like the greek gods but she was different she had a blessing, she called it a curse. But if it was a curse how could she have used it for good? Cassandra warned people multiple times but they didn't believe her so they died. People today like ABBA respect her but what if they did that back then?

Would You Listen; Cassandra's Curse

Cassandra was given an amazing gift; the ability to prophesize future events. Did Cassandra use these powers correctly? Incorrectly? Cassandra was very soft-spoken, and even when she recited complicated prophecies, which would soon come to pass, nobody would listen! Cassandra had an unimaginable amount of siblings. If you think your two siblings are too much to handle, imagine having another hundred siblings pestering you! It’s no surprise Cassandra was reserved and used to being ignored! I know that, personally, I would most definitely have met the same fate as Cassandra, considering the fact that I’m not exactly an outgoing person. What would you do if you were given these abilities? How would you react?

Cassandra Mingled into Modern Dilemmas...

I doubt many of us have been to Alaska. Personally, I have not either, but I have wondered for a while what life is like. One thing I never pondered until now was how bad the weather is there. No, I do not mean "it's always snowing insanely"- In fact, the problem is quite the opposite. Our problem lies in the melting of the ice and glaciers. Our problem lies in sea-levels rising. Our problem lies in the decaying of natural elements. Our largest problem, however, lies with very few listening to the signs. What is the history behind this? Has this always been an issue?
Cassandra was a Greek Prophet who first put a name on this issue: The issue of people not listening to signs, people not listening to people, and people not doing anything about it. Cassandra could see far into the future and attempted to help others in this way. Seemingly, she was not very helpful. She spoke in riddles, such as "what appears to be a hunting net is used for catching men." She did not explain the signs and demanded too much of people. When she warned the Trojans she spoke in riddles such as this "what a seed is, is not a seed, but a stone" - meaning the horse was not a gift, but a token of their downfall. The Trojans did not listen to her. Instead, they took the horse in and regretted it later.
From that, people learned that to be heard, one must speak clearly. But if people are being perfectly clear, how come the warning still does not come across? In 1986 a spacecraft exploded, killing the person inside. Did anyone know? Yes. Engineers noticed an error in the system days before the launch. The managers ignored them. However, when Andrew Natsios asked President Bush to help conflicts in Sudan be stopped before they arose, he agreed. One of the problems for Cassandra and the engineers was that no one understood their fear. Though they could clearly tell there would be an issue, they were too "far ahead" for anyone to feel connected to what they were explaining.
So to be a successful Cassandra one must:
1. Speak clearly, and make sure that their point gets through
2. Show as well as tell: give reasons for your concern
3. Explain this thoroughly, knowing that others may not have been aware of this
Natsios was successful because he thought of these things, and gave a detailed presentation explaining why to the president. As well as this, there were clear signs in Sudan that the situation was going to get much worse, but it took a Cassandra to show that.
With all of this, many modern Cassandras are still being ignored. Even Mother Nature is a Cassandra. She speaks clearly. She shows us fires and sea-levels rising, ice melting. Though many things could have caused those individually, only one thing causes them all. Climate Change. And with her, and people's warnings, nothing is being done. Leaders are ignoring this.
So why are only some warnings heard? Is it because people truly don't believe these signs of danger? Or is it that a human's mind has a filter, and refuses to take notice of anything they do not want to hear?

Why Doesn't Anyone Want To Believe?

In the podcast for the Cassandra curse, it talks about how some warnings are heard and heeded, while others are left for dead. Some things today are similar to the myth of Cassandra. For example,  global warming. This is a huge problem, but nobody cares. Why? We need to learn how to convince people who don't believe to believe. A way I would do this is to point out the facts and cancel out their opinions. We could also speak to them in a way that they can understand. That first one might make them sad, but at least they would believe. Also, we need to convince the higher-ups to do something about it and make the people who are convinced and know about it to act too. How would you do it? How would you solve these problems? (Tell me in the comments )

Why are some warnings ignored, and others not?

One thing that didn't make sense was cassandra didn't try to make her riddles easier to decipher. I learned a lot about warnings for disasters and I think that the reason that Andrew Natsios' warning was accepted was because he had connections and told people exactly what would happen if they didn't act. He got his point across to someone who could actually do something. Cassandra made herself an outcast and made her warnings as vague as possible. Even her father didn't like her. If I would warn someone, I would do it like andrew or tell someone in power.

Cassandra = Failure = Death of Trojans

After I listened to Cassandra Curse I learned that Cassandra was gifted the power of prophecy from Apollo. The bad thing though, was that Apollo did it out of love but Cassandra did not care about Apollo. So, in turn, he cursed her so that nobody would listen to her. People not listening to her led to the death of many, many people.
In January 28 1986 a spacecraft known as the Challenger spacecraft took off. Unfortunately, mere seconds after it took off, there was a malfunction. Someone had warned NASA about it, but they did not pay attention. I think everyone should be heard out and payed attention to if they warn you of something.
If someone around you had a crazy 'Cassandra Moment', do you think you would believe them? Take some time and really think about it honestly.

Welp... I told you so.

Alright.
So, this thing about Cassandra. She was a greek prophet who could see into the future. You might think this is a blessing, and you'd be right... under other circumstances. Here's the thing; Cassandra spoke in riddles and metaphors, so no one understood her, she wanted people to act and do things that were to much for most people, and most importantly, in my opinion, she had no authority. What do you think of this 'blessing' now?
What I learned from this podcast is that people with no authority usually don't get heard when they have a 'Cassandra moment', or a warning of the future. For example, A man named Andrew Natsios had a Cassandra moment and since the president knew him, he listened. But the engineers in the disaster of  Challenger, the space shuttle, predicted that something would happen and called to postpone the launch, but the managers overruled them and, well, you know what happened next.
CRASH! BOOM!
Anyway, I want to leave you with a question. If someone you know has a cassandra moment, would you listen to them? Think carefully.

Blog Episode II: Why Won't Anyone LISTEN TO ME!!!!!!

After listening to the Cassandra Curse I learned that Cassandra was a lady who had the power of prophecy. She got the curse from Apollo because Apollo liked her and she gave the gift of Prophecy. But Cassandra wasn't intrested in Apollo so he places a curse on Cassandra which was that nobody would ever listen to her. In January 28 1986, the challenger spacecraft went off to space. A little after a minute there was a malfunction that happened. Somebody warned them that it would be dangerous but nobody listened at all. Sometimes people can have crazy ideas but you should pay attention because you never know. This power that Cassandra had was incredible  except there was one problem. No one believed her.  There really wasn't anything she could do to get people to believe her. I really feel bad for her and I think it's stupid how people can ignore other people for no reason. If you were in Cassandra shoes what would you have done?

The Cassandra Curse

Cassandra was never believed by the Greeks because she had no power. She knew something bad was going to happen, but nobody listened to her. And then, in the night, something terrible happened. It was an enemy attack- they all came out of the horse that was a “gift” and killed everyone, Cassandra being the only one left alive. Soon after, her visions weren’t believed again, and she died too. Cassandra had no power, and nobody would listen to her even though she was right, which was a curse. The Cassandra Curse. There were many “Cassandras” but one, a man named Andrew, actually did something about it. He gave presentations and lots of evidence of possible deaths. He was like Cassandra, but in the end, he was believed. Another example is how someone said something was going to go wrong when NASA’s spacecraft would start, and they were right. The spacecraft boosted off and then exploded in the air. Something that really affects us today, is another “Cassandra”. He was going through tunnels, long ago, and smelled something horrible. He discovered that the tunnel was full of frozen, preserved dead animals, and they were melting?! He tried to tell people, but nobody cared. Now, global warming is a huge problem. The Cassandras really need to be heard.

The Cassandra Curse

The Cassandra curse is about is very interesting. Cassandra is a person that can see stuff in the future. She tries to help people when there is bad things going to happen. But the people Ignored her. The first one is when she could see the king’s wife was going to murder him. The second one is the trojan horse was at the entryway. Her warnings where riddles so it was hard to understand her. Cassandra was born a greek god but she was cursed by a god that no one would believe her.

DO I NEED TO GRAB A MEGAPHONE?!?!?!?

Okay, let's start with this, Cassandra was a prophet who could see into the future, but she got cursed for no reason at all, she was one of the 50-100 children of the king of Troy, and because of the curse, she was IGNORED. One day, Cassandra predicted that the Greeks would do something bad. One day a wooden horse showed up on the shore of the kingdom of Troy, and Cassandra begged the people of Troy not to open the gates. As suspected, no one listened to her and they opened the gates. Okay, the greeks massacred the people of Troy and took the women, including Cassandra and her mother. Cassandra was weirdly happy that her BIG prediction was right and had another BIG prediction. She predicted that her master's wife was cheating on him and was going to brutally murder/ax both her and her master. She was once again correct with her prediction of the future, have you ever had a prediction of something and it was correct??

The cassandra curse

Cassandra Curse is very interesting she could predict the future and when there was something that was going to happen that was bad she would try to warn them but they just ignored her but it was very hard to understand her because her warnings were only riddles. What I learned from the Cassandra curse is that you should trust the people that warn you about something and that you should believe them even though they might sound crazy. What I would do if someone is disagreeing with me I would try to tell them everything that would happen and how it would happen. If someone warned you about something would you believe them?

Why won't they listen to me?

Cassandra was one of the king and queens of troy's children. Cassandra was born a Prophet by the Greek god Apollo because he favored her. She accepted the proposals and the received gifts, but she refused Apollo any of her offerings, so the god cursed her by making all her prophecies and warnings go unbelieved. Two Warnings were predicted by Cassandra, the first is where the king of toy would be murdered by his wife. The second warning was the Trojans invading troy(the trojan war, The greek king, Odysseus built The trojan horse They, the Greeks, disguised themselves as the horse or hid inside the makeshift horse to get inside the city and attack, the trojans let them in, not knowing who was inside)). Cassandra Predicted that they would invade but still, no one listened.

The Positive and Negatives of the Cassandra Curse (listen to me!!)

Cassandra is women in Greek Mythology. She could see the future, cool right! She could see if the country was in danger or not, but when there is good there is always bad! People would never believe her, when she would predict the future. People would never believe her because she would always say the problem in riddles, and nobody would care about it. Then they would be sorry with themselves because they would think " Aww man I should have figured out the answer for the riddle." There was a time when Cassandra could see that the trojan horse was bad but nobody would believe her. Do you think the Cassandra Curse  is real? Would you believe a person who can predict the future?

terrible consequences are waiting for you

First of all, Cassandra's curse was about the woman who warned about trojan horse. She warned that trojan horse is dangerous, but people ignored her, and people who ignored her, troy were defeated. January 28, 1986, the challenger broke down. However, there was a person who warned that, too. But everyone ignored the warning, so many people watched the falling pieces of challenger. So i think this two cases tell us that we should listen carefully to other people's word, so that we can avoid terrible consequences. Also, i learned blame someone is not a good solution. There are people who warn me, too. And i ignored them. Even though they warned me clearly, not like cassandra. I thought that their warning was not important, and consequently, took over my ps4. Well, only one that i can blame, is me. So i hope that i can listen other people carefully next time.

Jessica's Blog about the Cassandra curse

The Cassandra curse

“ Have you heard of the “Cassandra Curse” in class today”. “Oh my gosh, what the heck is that and what happened to cause it.'' That’s what many people ask every now and then. It is when someone knows something bad will happen and they won’t listen or they keep it to themselves.

It happens everyday with natural disasters such as tornadoes, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunami’s, or unchecked man made disasters. By that I mean people not checking their inventions 2-10 times, (I check my work that many times). By natural disasters, I mean people creating carbon emissions, we really need help with an eco-friendly planet.

You might wonder why the curse is called “Cassandra”, why not Juniper, or Jackie, that leans on gorey greek mythology, my favorite topic. It all started when “Apollo” the god of “everything” fell in love with “Cassandra the wise”.

When she turned him down (good job girl) he gave her a blessing and a curse, able to see the future but no one would believe her. She was often opaque with her visions, she could only see bloody visions (she must’ve been a bad psychic). That event led to the “ trojan horse” a large wooden horse that destroyed Troy.

She was the princess of Troy, she must’ve had followers that hadn’t believed anything she said, even when she was about to die in the future. She tried to tell them “don’t open the gate” but the trojan horse went at night and the kingdom met its demise. After that, she went to a stranger’s house, stranger danger people, she died.

So, she went to a man’s house and an intruder went in and killed them both, you might wonder how, an axe. Cassandra was in the living room and an old man was in the shower, her last vision before death. This dumb curse is because of Apollo, make sure to not offer anything to the gods and goddesses, we shall not make any more dumb mistakes.

In conclusion, be careful of what you do, what does it cause, and how do we prevent it.

Text-to-Self Connection Time

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say society as a whole generally doesn't listen to children and what we have to say. It's sad, but that's just what happens. I wasn’t surprised to hear that your level of authority matters in whether you’re believed or not, but I was glad it was brought up, because it happens. This might not sound like a lesson I learned, but I assure you it is, just in my own little roundabout way. Can anyone relate to this kind of thing? When you aren’t taken seriously because of your age or level of authority? Because I can and it's not fun.

Cassandra's Failure and maybe Ours.

In the podcast hidden brain, they talk about a woman named Cassandra who had prophetic powers but nobody would listen to her. On the last day of the trojan war, troy got beat by dudes in a horse, ya pretty weird. so when troy was being shipped off Cassandra was oddly optimistic, unlike the other slaves, then she got brutally murdered by a cheating wife after she saw a greek general get murdered.(now that's a weird type of revenge) The story tells us about how we need to speak out and tell people why we should be concerned and then do something about it. Then the podcast tells us about the unfreezing permafrost, which holds twice the amount of carbon in the ice than what's up there right now. (not good) This thawing of the permafrost could turn our atmosphere into one like Venus's which would then, in turn, kill us all. Would you try to speak out to help everyone, even if you had to give up everything like Cassandra?

Please listen to prevent.

One thing that I learned from the Cassandra podcast was that most people you will ever meet are just too stubborn to listen to others and think that they are always right in all the cases. This is when a disaster occurs. Some examples of these disasters are when the challenger space shuttle exploded, the warriors from greek attacked troy and also how the earth is going through climate crisis and nobody is accepting the facts of it. The things that all these cases have in common is that all crisis occur or are going to occur when the people don't listen to the warnings given by other people.

The other thing I learn about that I found fascinating was the attack of the Greeks on the Troy empire. I never knew that they were so determined to win the battle that they created a huge plan by hiding inside a huge wooden horse and attacking at night.  I was shocked when I noticed the reason behind Cassandra's smiling was that the general was about to be killed even if it meant her own death. Would you listen to future Cassandras to make sure that the future was safe?

The BoOmErS Just Will Not Listen But The zOoMeRs WiLl

A man named Chris Hiemstra is driving down a road and points something out to the passenger next to him and says

“You can see in the road here - you see all these bumps and all these curves.”

The “potholes” are not actually potholes as you may think, it’s actually because of permafrost. Permafrost is soil or ice that has been frozen for more than 2 years. At first, I was thinking well that’s normal. That’s what ice is supposed to do. I thought about it for a little bit and then I got it, the ice should be melting after the winter I felt dumb after that but anyway the permafrost was melting at Chris tried to tell people because it needed to help the animals and other things inside are thawing and no one listened to him he felt invisible.

Sometimes I try to tell people things that I think are cool but they don’t, believe it, I have them believe me by giving them proof. How do you get people to believe you?
