Jessica's Blog about the Cassandra curse

The Cassandra curse

“ Have you heard of the “Cassandra Curse” in class today”. “Oh my gosh, what the heck is that and what happened to cause it.'' That’s what many people ask every now and then. It is when someone knows something bad will happen and they won’t listen or they keep it to themselves.

It happens everyday with natural disasters such as tornadoes, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunami’s, or unchecked man made disasters. By that I mean people not checking their inventions 2-10 times, (I check my work that many times). By natural disasters, I mean people creating carbon emissions, we really need help with an eco-friendly planet.

You might wonder why the curse is called “Cassandra”, why not Juniper, or Jackie, that leans on gorey greek mythology, my favorite topic. It all started when “Apollo” the god of “everything” fell in love with “Cassandra the wise”.

When she turned him down (good job girl) he gave her a blessing and a curse, able to see the future but no one would believe her. She was often opaque with her visions, she could only see bloody visions (she must’ve been a bad psychic). That event led to the “ trojan horse” a large wooden horse that destroyed Troy.

She was the princess of Troy, she must’ve had followers that hadn’t believed anything she said, even when she was about to die in the future. She tried to tell them “don’t open the gate” but the trojan horse went at night and the kingdom met its demise. After that, she went to a stranger’s house, stranger danger people, she died.

So, she went to a man’s house and an intruder went in and killed them both, you might wonder how, an axe. Cassandra was in the living room and an old man was in the shower, her last vision before death. This dumb curse is because of Apollo, make sure to not offer anything to the gods and goddesses, we shall not make any more dumb mistakes.

In conclusion, be careful of what you do, what does it cause, and how do we prevent it.
