The Cassandra Curse

Cassandra was a Greek Mythology women, born to King Priam and Queen Hecuba of Troy.
She was cursed to state true prophecies and have no one believe her. In the most common stories it's been said that the god Apollo had admired Cassandra so he offered her the gift of telling the future, hoping to win her over with it. She promised him favors in return for the gift, but after receiving her gift she refused to hold up her end of the bargain. Apollo was furious but he couldn't take back her new power, instead he added on to the curse. She could still state true prophecies but no one would believe her. In other stories Cassandra held up her end of the bargain but the curse was claimed as an achievement.
