War Over Water?

Recent events have shown that the next major war could be over water. Yes, water. Here in the US we are lucky enough to have fresh water all the time. We can buy it in bottles, gallons, liters, and flavors, but some countries don’t have that luxury. For example, in the Middle East the only two countries that have a healthy supply of water are Turkey and Iraq. Although these countries are the only people with water Iran is also able to provide for itself. Iran grows crops so they are able to survive. The other countries in the Middle East are not selfsuffient and they aren’t able to be selfsuffient which is why there could be a war. Do you think there will be a war over water?

  1. I think that there will be a war over water in the future, but not for a long time. In my opinion it is hard to even think that people around the world are with out water or food. Here in the U.S people take our surplus water supply for granted and in other spots in the world people are without out it. If you where in a position like that what would you do?

  2. I believe that there will definitely be war over water in the future. It is interesting to think about what a luxury water is. In my opinion it is very hard to imagine not having water. I cannot believe only two countries have a healthy water supply! In the U.S we sure have many luxuries, like the coast line that we don't have to fight over.

  3. I really do think the next war will be over water. We have so much water here in America and these countries just wish they could have water like we do. I feel bad for the countries that don't have a lot of water. I mean, we have water at school, at home, pretty everywhere in Michigan. I wonder how it feel to live in countries with not a lot of water. How would you feel?
