US Boat Released by Iran in Less than a Day

This Tuesday, 10 Navy sailors-9 men and 1 woman-, drifted into Iranian waters. By Wednesday they were back safe with the American Fleet. But how had they gotten there in the first place? A defense official in Washington said that the Navy ruled out engine and propulsion failure. Navigational problems, whether they be human or mechanical, couldn’t be ruled out though. The small boats were sailing between Kuwait and Bahrain on a training mission when the US lost contact. They suffered problems near Farsi Island, in the middle of the Persian Gulf. The picture shows where the boat was going (Kuwait to Bahrain) and where it ended up being (Farsi Island). How do you think this happened?
