Syrian Refugees
Syria has a problem. There are approximately 4.3 million refugees in Syria and the President, Bashar al-Assad, isn't taking action and basically ignoring what the protesters have to say. Meanwhile, the fugitives are having a tough time surviving. In fact, more than half of the 6.6 million people displaced in Syria, are children. They sometimes are forced to leave schools! Children that are affected by the conflict in Syria either become ill, abused, malnourished, or exploited. Experts estimate that over the winter, more than 195,000 Syrian families will need financial aid and resources. For example, they need food, warm clothes, shoes, blankets, fuel, and heaters. More than 3,200 people have died this year because they didn't have all of the resources listed above. One of the people who died was a little Syrian boy named Aylan.
This is a big deal and I actually haven't heard about this on the news. Have you? If so, what did you think when you heard about this?
