Paper Promises
In the midst of Palestinian and Israeli conflict, different people see different point of views. The documentary “Promises”, shows this war from the kids view. At first, none of the children know each other, but as B.Z. Goldberg brings them together, he is also cutting off some of the conflict. There is tension, of course, because they have all been taught to hate the other religion for different reasons. However, the most common reason is because of the land. The Jews’ religion states that they were promised the land of Israel as their Promised Land. B.Z. makes all of the conflict not matter, when the children face their fears, and meet each other for the first time. I think that the documentary was really great, seeing from the different views opened my eyes. All of the different people seemed to think they had a reason for hating each other, but instead of killing each other they became friends. I think that it was a moving documentary, and it really made a difference in the world.
