The Islamic State as most of us would view it, is dangerous and awful. But some people find clarity and comfort in ISIS' beliefs. They feel as if not enough people understand them or they never really had a family or someone in the beginning. Or orphans and people that have nowhere to go except into the hands of waiting terrorists. Later, ISIS recruits these people for soldiers. Often the harsh reality is many children get recruited by ISIS to become people like suicide bombers to and give their life for the Islamic State. Meanwhile even western or European countries are not safe from this. Right now over 500 people from the U.K. are fighting on the front lines all over the world for ISIS and there are still more people getting recruited in the region. ISIS has spread it's recruitment roots everywhere and even has a base to report to in in the United States. Teenage girls also seek to join this brutal regime but even if they want to return home they can't and rescue missions are nearly impossible. All of this is being fought for what the Islamic State thinks will be "the end of the world" and religion. Do what would you did if someone you know wants to runaway and join ISIS?
I agree Jaclyn, but it is extremely hard to stop people from going. For one, they target insecure teens who are upset and confused, who want to be a part of something big. Take Jihadi John, the British man in the beheading videos. His classmates say he was very depressed and confused. Again, I get what you mean, but we can't just send everyone to psychologists.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I agree with you. Although it is hard to restrain people from joining ISIS. It is extremely sad that the reality is that people are joining and becoming suicide bombers.Even though it's sad that they choose to join Isis. I do understand what you mean but, like Myles said we can't send everyone to a psychiatrist.
