The Good And Bad Of The Cassandra’s Curse
Cassandra is a woman that existed in Greek Mythology that could see the future. As good as this sounds, this was actually more of a curse. Cassandra could see the problems in the future, but nobody would believe her. Many people had reasons though. Cassandra spoke in riddles and was always into the future. During a war, Cassandra could see a victory and would be happy, while people beside her were still fighting. Although Cassandra was only a myth, many things that are happening right now are similar. People with high power in government may not listen to a person with little power, even if that person is correct. In the 1990s, a space shuttle named Challenger took off, only to explode in less than a minute after takeoff. Could somebody actually know that the shuttle was going to explode, but not say anything? Sometimes people know that something wouldn’t work, but the majority did not believe it. From Cassandra, we should learn to consider what people say, even if it doesn’t sound right at first. So, with so many tips and information is given every day, how do people know what to believe and what to ignore?
