Dora in 2019
If Dora was created in 2019, I bet you she would change a lot. For example, her style. Her style now isn’t very trendy now, but it is her signature outfit, she might have jeans instead of shorts or a jacket instead of a pink shirt. Something I think could never change about dora is her bilingual ability to educate and teach children Spanish, and her trusty helpers Boots, The Map, and of course Backpack. I mean think about it, if map didn’t exist, where would she know where she was, or if boots wasn’t there, who would be there to help her in her missions. How do you think Dora could change in 2019?

Humanity Will End at the Hands of our Own Creations... Or Climate Change
So, how safe are we, really? With cameras everywhere, and the use of facial recognition growing more and more, how do we know that our personal information is secure? Chances are it isn’t. Then again, how safe are we even without it? There’s been an increased use of social media, especially with younger people, and that could also result in some bad things regarding this issue, to say the least, you know, with Facebook stealing your data and all.
Here’s a challenge, go Google “Facebook stealing data,, bad??” and see what happens. Is it good?? Is it horrible, but you don’t care because it’s the only way to “stay in touch with people??” Find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z.

Is your face being tracked
If i were to change one thing about facial recognition. It would be how your face is picked out. I think that facial recognition should only be used for crimes. Facial recognition can mix up people. When reading the article. I read something about using their driving licence as a passport at the airport. Most things you do in public is most likely on video camera. Some cameras have facial recognition. Should facial recognition should only be used to identify crimes.
Whats Going On With Dora???
Dora was a sensation to the public for a long time and a bigger sensation to the young ones, but then after a while people started to not care about the show, inventors started creating new and improved tech that would REALLY!! change the world as we all used to see it. And again Disney finally decided to make a huge impact on the show!! A no they did NOT make another show like any other they Made a MOVIE!! NOT just any movie it was a LIVE ACTION MOVIE!!! can you believe that and just that movie a LIVE ACTION movie made THEM sorry, DORA big again and that's what i call a comeback especially rising over any other tech.Oh and by the way i am a way better nature explorer than you, think you are better??

Do kids no days like Dora's style?
Do kids now days like Dora's style?
Do you think Dora’s shirt matches her bright orange shorts? I think that all kids that were born in the 2,000’s and up know and love the show Dora , including her outfit. But now days lots of people do not prefer her outfit style. This outfit choice and show is pretty iconic. The show was adored by millions of kids and still is. But these days I don’t think anyone would dress like dora because she wears a type of style that is hard for some kids to wear. As you can see the old Dora is more of a cartoon, and the new Dora is more detailed. I think when they make a new version of Dora they should make new clothing for her. Do you guys agree?

Swiper, no swiping. Dora's back!
The show Dora can teach kids more than you thought. But first, Trump announced a new law that would change or limit who can immigrate to the United States, and who can leave the United States. If immigrants are legally here but need the government's help for everyday living, then they are not permitted to stay. He also thinks that we are being invaded but it’s really just the immigrants coming from the southern border. A lot of thought always comes into creating a tv show, but there was so much thinking that came into Dora. Dora was just a normal tv show to kids but really there’s more in the foundation of the show and teaching kids on American tv a little more about Latino culture. They had to plan/figure out all about Dora and the show like her ethnicity, setting, and the characters. They also had to think about what would engage kids in watching and liking Dora. Within less than a year, the show became really popular for preschoolers aged 2 to 5. It was translated into 25 different languages. Dora was a great way to show the Pan-Latino culture and her differences between her and the kids watching the show. What are ways you learned about other cultures? What are some other ways of learning about cultures?
Dora V.S Sesame street π
Dora, Dora, Dora the Explorer-ah! Dora was created by Chris Gifford in 1998 with his colleague Valerie.
Both of them were working at Nick Jr, which is Nickelodeon's preschool program, and they got a very
exciting opportunity. They were asked to make a hit show for Nick Jr. so then they got to brainstorming.
But finally, they decided to keep it simple. They were going to make a show about a young Hispanic,
none binary girl who would ask the preschoolers at home to help her solve a problem or problems in
each and every episode. So they started working on the show for months and months, and then their
boss went to a conference where they learned that of the 80 Nick Jr program all of the characters
were under the age of 18, not a single one was Latinx. And then the head of programming at Nick Jr
came back from the conference, and they then announced Dora was okay to them. The character they
were working on, she's going to be Hispanic, Latinos, and she's going to be bilingual. They took the
wrong position. They said, look - there are Latinos in the world even is the US of all kinds of
backgrounds, and I think it's important that kids of different Latino backgrounds could be able to
identify/agree with Dora. But at the same time, people are openly showing their hate towards people of
different races, colors, and different/ immigrant communities. It's 20 about years later, and Dora’s
messages have not changed.

Hola, soy Dora!
Translation:Let's go boy's and girls! Let me tell you about Dora!
Dora is an awesome Pan-Latina icon in kids TV shows since, like, 1998.
It’s cool that she’s still here, even after President Trump’s
rude comments about Latinos and Mexicans.
Usually, indigenous people are treated poorly in films,
but this show make them the highlight of the thing to build bridges.
If she were a real person, she would be the first person to try to
fight for non-racism policies for Latinas and Mexicans.
Maybe she’d start marches, give speeches, and undoubtedly
become a 20th century M.L.K, and ask other Latinos and
Mexicans to join her efforts for a truly free country without
discrimination against races. If she were our age,
it would be cool to have her as a friend who hopes
to change views for some people over Latinas, and, of course, have an
adventure spirited person! Sure, she might want to change her
"I have a talking map and monkey and other talking items as friends even
if that's super cliche"vibe, and become more modern-styled
including keeping her name as "Dora Marquez" rather than "Dora the Explorer."
Like, that's way too long to put on an attendance sheet. Maybe she
could change her clothing, and not, like,be like Harry Potter in the movies,
were he just has the same t-shirt and cloth jacket for literally almost all the movies,
and switch her purple t-shirt with orange shorts for something more classy.

So now that I explained my thoughts on Dora, how would you treat her if she were real? How would you imagine this Pan-Latino taking back the dignity and self respect of Latinos around the US? Ponder about this a bit. Now, as Dora might say (I never watched the show but...) Adios amigos!
Dora is the best!
A lot went into making Dora but at first, they wanted to do a bunny and a mommy going on an adventure together and then you would have a treasure hunt with a kitten. They then quickly ditched that idea and decided to make it simple and went to a girl quickly. So then they went to a little girl who asked questions to little kids to help that person solve problems at home in every episode. they were going to have it be a white person but when their boss went to a conference he learned that not a single character under the age of 18 was Latina and once she heard that she decided she was going to be Latina. If you were Dora what would you ask the little boys and girls watching you on television?
What Would Dora Be Like Today?
Hola Mi Amigos!
I can see your face!
Facial Recognition is as annoying as it is useful. Most of the time this can lead to wrong arrests and false accusations. It is good in a way, because it can help us find out who the culprit is just by using facial recognition, but you would need to have enough proof to actually determine the person who commited the crime. Honestly, I wouldn't want my face being seen by too many people because I am camera shy. (That is why I don't like my picture being taken, also because I am too lazy to even commit crime). What do you think about facial recognition?
you can never be to old for dora!
Hello, today im going to be talking about dora the explorer. You probably don't know what went into making dora the tv show. If the show were created right now I would have her talk like with a spanish Accent differently. If she morphed into a real person she would think of the nation is too polluted and needs less coal facilities energy plants, I wish to be like Dora because it more exciting with friends and exploring the big world, I also would be friends with her for more adventures and fun and outdoor fresh air and plant life. What would Dora be like for you?
2019 Dora
If Dora was created in 2019, I bet you she would change a lot. For example, her style. How do you think Dora could change if it was made in 2019?
Dora new times
How would the show “Dora the Explorer!” be if she was created in the year of 2019? Well for starters, she would probably have a different style of clothes. And even though it's a personal choice, she might have lost the signature bob hair look. She would definitely still have her talking map and Boots. Their like her sidekicks or teammates. They help her on all her mission’s. The map helps her find her way, and Boots just help with everything. Without them Dara might not be such a good explorer! How would you think Dora would be in 2019?
Dora, Dora, Dora, The Explorer
Dora all started one day in the year 1998. With Chris Gifford and his colleague,Valerie Walsh. When their boss came up to them and gave them a new assignment. The assignment was to make the new most hit show. They didn't know if the would be able to do it so they brought in another writer to help, Eric Weiner, then they started brainstorming ideas. The first thing they came up was really weird. It was about a bunny and a mommy that would go on an adventure together to the post office, after that you got a treasure with kitties. After they brainstormed that the ditched it and kept brainstorming, the only thing they knew they wanted was to keep it simple. After that they knew they wanted the main character of the new “most hit show” to be a girl. Soon they started thinking they wanted a young girl that asked preschoolers a question and they would help her find the answer and it would be like that for every episode. They started coming up with lines but then they were like “this does not go together”. So they ditched that idea again. I’m not going to get into Blues Clues but i will say it helped kids get smarter, I guess that's how you could say it. They decided they wanted the new”most hit show” about the same idea as Blues Clues. So they came up the show, the characters, backgrounds, music, lines, etc. Then they made commercials and all sorts of stuff and then put it on tv. It did become the most hit show for a little bit. Since it was so popular they made toys, room decor, clothes, shoes, holiday stuff, etc. After a couple of years they decided to make a real life version of Dora. Personally if I were the one creating new Dore I would change her clothes and how she sounds.

Dora Is Amazing!!
Hola mi amigos!! Dora the Explorer was the most popular kids TV show in 1999, on nickelodeon, and is still played to this day! I thought that it was such a great idea that they picked a Latina girl to play Dora! When I was younger I would watch Dora every morning! I would sing along to the song Dora, Dora, Dora, the Explor-ah!! She is such an amazing character I wish I was like Dora, but not exactly like her because that would be weird, I would rather be her friend cause I mean who WOULDN'T?? Anywho Dora is a great character and I think lots of people should learn about the background Dora! So I challenge you to learn more about Dora cause she is pretty cool! Adios Amigos!!
The True Meaning of Dora
I bet you’re wondering, who wants to read about Dora? Sure, lots of kids like Dora. But not for the same reason.
Most kids who watched Dora are in their late teens now. My older sister had the bob haircut and brown skin, so we always said she resembled Dora. I was more of a Mickey Mouse fan, but I learned a lot about Dora from my sister. I learned that she was a girl in a tv show just like any other, and she had an extremely catchy theme song. But instead of getting kids to say english words and yell them at the screen, she got them to yell in Spanish.
My sister always told us she wanted to learn Spanish, and in middle school, that’s what she did. She caught on quickly, understood many things, and had a real interest in it. Seven year old Dora really did teach kids. In each episode, there would be a new problem, like in any other tv show. But Dora was such a big influence, she was on Nickelodeon for a very long time.
The creators of Dora first imagined the new Nickelodeon Jr. show to have a small white girl, but one simple meeting changed that. Nobody even thought of making the main character a Latinx. But when they imagined her being Latinx, she was perfect. She has a backpack, a best friend named boots, a map to guide her, and the bad fox, Swiper.
Now, Dora has become a joke to teenagers. Just like Peppa Pig, many kids make jokes and photoshop images of her to be part of the trend. But Dora was created to teach young kids that it’s ok to be colored and that you should embrace your culture. There’s even a live action film of Dora. What started out as a toddlers TV show idea turned out to be a wonderful, educational, famous
dora's ever lasting memory
“Dora the Explorer” started being made in the late 1990’s and first aired in 2000, but before it aired, a lot went on. The creators of the show were told to come up with the next BIG hit, finally they came up with a girl who really engaged with the audience, explored, and was a Latina. Some of the writers wanted her to have a single culture, but ultimately they decided to make her multi cultural to ensure that all kids with Latinx backgrounds can relate to Dora. When they finally completed Dora the Explorer and it aired, it was immediately a big hit. Later in the interview they asked people from that period of time when it first came out how it affected them and almost every answer was that it made them feel safe. My point here is that people who are white and watched this show just thought that it was entertainment but it had a purpose, to make a impact on young latinx kids. Now i’ll challenge you the next time you see Dora on tv don’t think of it as entertainment but instead think of it as a show that makes an impact.
Dora the Movie is Very Different
I think the reason they released the dora movie was because of Trump's wall idea I think its saying that immigrants are not always bad and i think its teaching young people of new people from other countries. I also think it's a good movie because it does not only influence them it also teaches them new languages which is great for the students that are watching it. One part in the podcast it talking to the writer and he said that “we wanted to character all around the world so it can be diverse and so they think it's okay to be diverse”
Banning Facial Recognition
I think that facial recognition is bad because the U.S. still hasn’t used a lot of their
resources on facial recognition. Facial recognition is bad because some of the technology failed and identified the wrong people and they arrested the wrong people. Also, some people are also using facial recognition to stalk people. If facial recognition was not banned and if it had spread across the world than the government might use it for bad reasons like stalking everybody and other bad things. The other bad thing about facial recognition is that the people won’t have a lot of privacy and a lot of people will be paranoid about it. Then the facial recognition will cause a lot of problems most likely like many people boycotting. That is why facial recognition needs to get banned before it starts to spread across the world and the government will take control of it and then the world will crumble bit by bit until there’s nothing left.
Technological Advancements
Technological Advancements
I think that facial recognition is a very useful tool in crimes and it is convenient for daily use in many phones. People say that it can lead to privacy problems but the benefits outweigh the risks. Some of the benefits are that if there are cameras then the software can find out who it could be even if we couldn’t. These benefits can still make mistakes though. They can lead to wrongful arrests and convictions. This is what I think, but what do you think, is facial recognition worth it?
The importance of Dora the Explorer
Dora has been around for what feels like forever. It probably feels that way for me because I have never lived in a time where Dora did not exist. When I was younger I never really watched Dora, although we did own one movie about her finding keys for dogs though (I looked it up, it was called “Save The Puppies!”) Even though little Amelia was not a big fan of Dora I most definitely can say that Latina and just any kind of minority representation is very important. Most television and movies tend to be very white and straight and cis and not have a lot or any representation, especially kid shows. Some people may say that children are too young to learn about “those” kinds of people and you know what I say to that? Grow up. Minorities exist and it's time that we stop pretending they don’t. Kids need to be exposed to learning about people of different races, religions, sexualitys, genders, home lives, mental or physical illnesses because they need to learn that it's okay to be or have those different things. They didn't just pick Dora being Latina on a whim, it was very purposeful. Dora being a latina for the lead of an extremely popular children's TV show is a pretty big deal if you think about it. Tons of young latinas have probably watched Dora growing up and looked up to her because they could relate to her and that's very important. Every young child should be able to look up to someone like them that they see on TV. I’ve had a lot of fictional characters that I looked up to when I was younger, I always used to (and still kinda do) go through these little phases (the ones I can remember the clearest are the Disney princesses though.) Who was your guys’s?
It's All About The Facial Recognition
Many states are using the new big thing which is facial recognition and many people
are outraged with this, saying that it could give false or wrongful arrests and that facial
recognition is a violation of their privacy, But other people would like to disagree
and could help with many things such as help finding missing people and more.
Jonathan Turley says that it is ridiculous to not use this technology for securing
airports and installation Many people are concerned because there are more white people
than colored in the database which leads people believe that it may lead to false arrests
of colored people. So will things actually go through with facial recognition or will
the people break through and debate against it???
You Are Being Watched
Cameras are everywhere. Facial recognition is a software application that uses cameras to scan people’s faces. Facial recognition can sometimes be really helpful. But sometimes facial recognition can be unsafe. Someone could hack into the city facial recognition cameras and steal someone’s identity. The facial recognition software can recognize a person, and sometimes will know that person’s identity, including their height, eye color, and age. It is used by city officials or other people to help find people. It is used when they need to find someone that committed a crime or to find a missing person. Some people believe that facial recognition is an invasion of their privacy, but I think it can be very helpful.
Relevance and knowledge of Indigenous cultures and people
Trump administration announced new rules that would fundamentally change who can immigrate to and stay in the United States. President Trump has himself used the term invaders to describe immigrants coming across that same border, and the new immigration rules he put in place are the latest in a parade of policies and rhetoric from his White House that target migrants from Mexico and Latin America. Where is Dora from? So this was a very important question because it would dictate the rest of the show. Dora is Pan-Latino. We are building bridges, not erecting barriers. Cortes suggested that they frame Dora as a cross-cultural problem-solver and because Dora was able to speak both English and Spanish, she was able to bridge and build a team with monolinguals of two different languages. Cortes said, look - there are Latinos in the United States of all kinds of backgrounds, and I think it's important that kids of different Latino backgrounds be able to identify with Dora. Dora dances, plays games, and speaks Spanish. Dora craze didn't stop there. The show was adapted into over 25 languages. And aside from effects, Dora in many ways is more real than in the animated series mostly because she's an actual human being. Dora was part of the process of affecting the values of young people to make inclusivity a more important value. Have you ever watched Dora? What did you think about her? Did you opinion change after you read the blog?
Caught On Camera
People think that facial recognition is a bad thing but, can it be helpful to society? In 2017 a woman stowed a pair of $150 dollar boots in her bag and walked out the door but, what she didn’t know is that the store had implied facial renegotiation systems throughout the store to prevent stealing. The image of her face was uploaded to a database system and within a few moments a possible list of suspects was found. The next day the deputy interviewed some of the women and the guilty woman confessed to the crime.Face detection is a broader term than face recognition. Face detection just means that a system is able to identify that there is a human face present in an image or video. ... Face recognition can confirm identity. It is therefore used to control access to sensitive areas. However, the fourth amendment protects against unreasonable searches and seizures. In either situation it’s a win win for the government or for the suspect. Therefore I ask you: do you think that facial recognition is a good thing?
