Welcome to Lagos

When you usually think of cities you'll think of New York or Chicago, or maybe even Detroit, and you probably don't think of Africa as the location of one of the world's most flourishing cities. Welcome to Lagos, Nigeria, Africa's first and largest city. One of the fastest growing cities in the world, Lagos is a huge financial center in Africa and has one of the busiest ports on the continent. It also has a population of about 21 million people. It even has a rapidly growing music scene.  Despite all of these positives, Lagos still has problems with traffic. They have an infamously horrendous medical system, with crashed cars not being addressed for up to 6 hours. They also have problems with sanitation and keeping everyone in the city well fed. Even though Lagos still has problems with things like sanitation and hygiene, it's still a city I wouldn't mind visiting.  If you want, you can try and find out more information about Lagos for yourself. If you find any, type your information in the comments section below this article.

  1. I never knew that Lagos, Nigeria is one of the fastest growing cities in the world! Did you know, during the summer each month, they usually get 300 inches of precipitation! Before we started learning about Africa, I didn't really know that Africa could get that much rain. Lagos is close to the coast so they can trade with other countries. It is amazing that their lowest average temperature there is around 70 degrees Fahrenheit! Have you ever been to a country in Africa before?
