Diving Into Maldives
Has anyone heard of Maldives? I sure haven't! The Maldives is a small island nation in South Asia, located in the Arabian Sea of the Indian Ocean. It is southwest of Sri Lanka and India. As I have previously mentioned, I haven't heard of this nation, but I find its location and name intriguing, which is why I chose to do this blog on it. Many of their culture, traditions, and customs originated from Indian, Sri Lankan, Malaysian, Arab, Persian, Indonesian, and even African influences. This is shown in their dances and the accompanying music. For example, Boduberu, a traditional dance in the Maldives, takes you to Africa through the language and the rhythm of the drums. Thaara, another popular folk dance in the Maldives, is believed to be introduced by the Gulf Arabs. Many more of the Maldives's traditional dances have origins similar to these. Do you think that the popular songs of the younger generation have origins like Thaara or Boduberu?

Bangladesh information blog
Bangladesh info on history, language, etiquette, culture, and location
“Oh my gosh, did you hear about Bangladesh, I do not know what it is. Is it a common food that is made with farmed ingredients”? “I think it is part of a shoe collection, I’m imagining it as special converses with a star on the base”. “No guys, I think it’s a news channel that talks about South Asia”.
Bangladesh is a small country in Southern Asia that is hardly in the news, due to lack of attention or lack of conflicts. Bangladesh is located in the delta of the Padma (Ganges Ganga) and Jamuna (Brahmaputra). Bangladesh is called “Land of the Bengalis' ), because the Bengal river cuts through it. Most of the people are muslim, other races have a small population in Bangladesh. In 1971, Bangladesh became an independent country along with its capital in Dhaka.
Bengali or Bangla is the majority language, the language that many people speak in Bangladesh. The aryan languages are spoken in Bangladesh, aryan means a member of one of the peoples of the indian subcontinent speaking and indo-european language. The aryan languages that people speak in Bangladesh are Bishnupriya, Chakma, Chittagoggian, Hajong, Rohingya, Sylheti, Tangchangya, Rangpuri, Assamese, Oraon Sadri, and Bihari. The non-aryan languages (austroasiatic languages) in Bangladesh are Khasi, Koda, Mundari, Pnar, Santali, and War- Jaintia. I did not expect that there would be a lot of languages, but they do have a lot of culture.
Bangladesh has a lot of culture, it is amazing how they are compactas a country, while others are falling apart. One greeting that surprised me was when they take place between people with the same sex. This one rule of giving gifts to people is that you should never give money or white flowers, it will be taken offensively and will be considered inappropriate at funerals. As they say, “the left hand is always unclean, so only eat, pass dishes, or drink with the right hand”. Many people eat with their hands, so you might share a dish with others, it’s common.
“ Oh my, now I know more about Bangladesh’s country, I should have stayed in school”.

india's biggest festival
Indias biggest festival and most popular festival of colors. The festival in is in India. India, Holi announces the festival because of the arrival of spring and the passing of winter. People gather there to bury their hatchets with a warm embrace, throwing their worries in the air. Creating a very colorful environment. With colors ranging from red, pink, yellow, green, violet, blue and others. People dance sing throwing colors in the air and at each other. Though liquid colors are used in India. A warm environment because they do not want people to get sick. I picked India’s most popular festival is because it a way to get rid of worries and other things, it is so colorful. Would you like to go to this colorful festival?
Aloo gosht, Sounds interesting...
Even though I have never had Aloo Gosht, the name sounds very interesting, and I probably wouldn't like it but I would at least give it a try. It says that Aloo gosht is a very traditional meal that originated from the Indian Subcontinent. The name Aloo Gosht sounds like some crazy medicine used to fight off indigestion or something. If I were to ever travel to Asia, I would probably travel to Afghanistan to try it out.
India has the third best food
What I am going to talk to you about is India's food. My family has Indian food most week days. Indian food usually includes rice, curry, or spices. Another Indian food that I am going to talk to you about is samosas. Samosas are either fried or baked indian pastries that usually include spiced potatoes, peas, and lentils. Sometimes my parents make the samosas but most of the time we get them from the stores. Some people like having meat samosas and some people like having vegetarian samosas. If you strongly want to try a samosa then I suggest that you try them.
Afghan Food!
Afghan food is mainly based around its most common crops such as wheat, corn, barley, and rice. Kabuli palaw is the national dish of Afghanistan Afghanistan is also known for its very high-quality grapes, pomegranates, and rugby shaped melons??? I think the whole rugby shaped melon thing is really interesting because I have never seen anything like this. It is actually quite big too. But the number one most popular food in Afghanistan is a flatbread called Bolani. They fill it with potatoes and such even sometimes spinach. I'm not sure about you but I would absolutely love to try this it sounds like a samosa. (Kind of.)
CoOl FoODs iN InDIa
A cool Indian dish is Chicken Tikka Masala. It's a main course meal and a type of curry dish. It contains ingredients like chicken, yogurt, cream, ginger, coconut milk, and at least 10 other things that I honestly don't feel like writing. The serving temperature should be either warm or hot. The dish is basically chunks of roasted marinated chicken in a spiced curry sauce. The sauce is normally creamy and orangey color. There are a lot claims that the meal started in India and the UK. It's also the UK's most popular dish.

The Maldives
The Maldives is a South Asian country and they have a lot of food, for example, Rihaakuru a traditional food of Maldivian cuisine. It is a paste made out of fish and is a Maldivian favorite. They also have many traditions like Men wear sarongs which is a cloth that they wrap around their waist with a long sleeve shirt that is usually white. Women have a traditional dress that they wear called libaas. Islam is the official religion all citizens must be Muslims and any practice of a different religion other than Islam is forbidden. Maldivian culture is very unique and interesting! Don't you think that it is an amazing culture?
Afghanistan Foods
Afghanistan is largely based on the nation's chief crops, such as wheat, maize, barley, and rice. Some other Afghanistan foods are native fruits and vegetables as well as dairy products such as milk, yogurt doogh, and whey. Kabuli Palaw is the national dish of Afghanistan. One of Afghanistan's festivals is Nau-Roz. Nau-Roz is the first day of spring and of the Afghan solar calendar, it falls on March 21st. This festival has lots of popular dishes they make for this festival but the two most popular dishes served there are samanak and haft-mehwah. Something Afghan kids do for fun is swimming and having fun in the refreshing cold lakes or rivers. One dish at Afghanistan is Aushak, it is basically pasta but what I find crazy is that they put yogurt on top of it.
Why do you thin they put yogurt on it?

Indias food
Indian cuisine has a wide variety of foods. Some of India's most popular food include biryani, dosa, butter chicken, tandoori meats, and samosas. Biryani consists of a mixed rice dish which can include any kind of meat eggs or vegetables. Another popular Indian dish you might have heard of is curry, which consists of a spicy sauce with fresh dried chili, ground turmeric, cumin, etc. mixed with a blend of meat usually chicken. Samosas is also a Middle Eastern dish usually stuffed with potatoes, meat, bell peppers, and chickpeas. I'm actually Middle Eastern and eat samosas usually during the month of Ramadan.
Blog post for India
For India, one of the most popular foods is Chaat. It is prepared with puffed rice, boiled potatoes, onions tomatoes, raw mango, and an assortment of chutney and spices. One of the holidays in India is Diwali, Divali, Deepavali is the Hindu festival of lights, usually lasting five days and celebrated during the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika. One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Something fun to do in India is to go to the Gali Paranthe Wali. Gali Paranthe Wali or Paranthe wali Gali is a narrow street in the Chandni Chowk area of Delhi, India, noted for its series of shops selling paratha, an Indian flatbread. What is your favorite food, festival and/or favorite thing to do in India?

BiZaRrE foods in India
There are many interesting foods in India. One of them that I personally like is butter chicken. It is typically made with chicken and an orange gravy made out of milk, onion, cream, tomato, vegetable oil, butter, tomato puree, spices (contains mustard), garlic, ginger, salt, natural smoked paprika, cardamom, lactic acid, dried fenugreek leaf, paprika extract (colour), citric acid. There are some very bizarre foods in India such as frog legs in sikkim, fried snails in odisha, and buffalo spleen in Pune. I would not really like to try any of these foods because they sound weird and when I looked them up they looked very weird. Would you like to try any of these bizarre foods?

Grammering my way across South Asia
Grammering my way across South Asia
By: Luke Bajorek
South Asia is an extraordinary place, but it doesn't get the credit it deserves. People are scared of the area because they don't know much about it. The area has amazing Natural beauty and culture. In Pakistan the ocean provides much natural beauty, but it's not a very large tourist location because of the violence in parts of the country and neighboring countries. In Oman there are beautiful waterfalls and landscapes; but this area isn't visited because of the little amount of knowledge me have about the area.
Jordan has some of the most rich history on this planet and is a place I would love to visit. It's population is less than 10 million, yet there are areas that date back to 300 BC. Jordan is an Muslim country that mostly practices the Islamic religion. Jordan borders the Red and Dead sea, and even has Volcanoes and Lava beds. Jordan also has many rivers, the largest being the Jordan river which stretches over 156 miles before emptying into the Dead sea.
WIth a capital of Anman, Jordan is a Muslim country. They cook many foods such as Mansaf, Falafel, Maqluba. Some foods from there that we have in the USA are Hummus and Greek Yogurt. Jordan is a spectacular country in the Middle East and I would recommend visiting it to everyone.

Exotic Foods From Bangladesh you may or may not want to try!
Hello Mr.Hopper, and the classmates commenting on my blog! In this blog episode, I will tell you all reading my blog about some exotic (or not so exotic)foods the people of Bangladesh have eaten there. Maybe also some fun activities they have. Probably not but maybe. Why? Because it would be fun to learn about all of that. To begin with, I will start with their types of food they would eat as a meal. I will put a link in the end for the pictures of all of them, but I will show 1 of them that I would eat for a meal. The other one will be a dessert. The first one is called: Shami Kababs! I'll say a reason to eat this, and it's simply because it looks like the things I normally eat for dinner. The second one, which is the very first in the deserts section, this meal is the Zafrani Kheer Patishapta. I will now say the reason why I want to eat this type of food. It reminds me of cake. I don't know why but it does. So a question for my comments. Tell me guys, which ones would you like to eat from the list below? I'll see you all in the next one! Peace!

Interesting India
India has a lot of interesting things to do. One of them is the amazing food. The food in India contains a lot of spices. Most of them contain a lot of pepper or chilli in them. There are also many tourist attractions in India. The Taj Mahal in Uttarpradesh attracts more than 6.5 million people every year. The Taj Mahal is believed to have been built by more than 20,000 people. It was built as a tomb for the emperor's wife who he loved dearly. It was the headquarters for The Mughals.
India also has a lot of crazy cricket fans including some kids who play cricket in the streets of the country. In India, cricket is like a religion. It is the most popular sport in the country. India also has amazing food. Some of the food is super spicy and some are very sweet. You will have to sample the food before eating it because the taste of the food is wild and unpredictable. After reading all of this information about India, would you go ahead and visit it?
"Maldives"? More like, "the only thing we have going for us is our cool hotels"!
At first I didn't even think any locals lived in Maldives, as all of it's Google images were hotels. Cool hotels, sure, but I can't stress this enough, they were all hotels. Trying searching for the culture of a country whose google images are all hotels. I'm giving myself a pat on the back, because I took up the challenge of dissenting travel sites to learn about the non-tourist part of the economy (the economy part is a lie, their entire economy is tourism).
Welcome to the island of mixed influence, where even the foods seems like a stereotypical South Asia palette. Cuisine in Maldives includes a variety of different styles, methods, and levels of heat, but it all revolves around three main ingredients: coconuts (yes, this is a tropical island, there are gonna be coconuts), fish, and starches.
Maldives is the smallest country in South Asia at 115 miles squared. It's the world's lowest lying country. The country was established in 1968 (that's actually fairly recently), with it's capital being Malé.

Grammering my way across South Asia
I found some of the most popular foods in India. Here are some of them. Rogan josh is a curried meat dish of Kashmiri of Punjabi. It is made with red meat usually lamb or goat. Vada pav is a vegetarian fast food dish. It consists of deep-fried potato dumplings placed in bread sliced in half. Hyderabadi biryani is an Indian dish. It is a variety of biryani from Hyderabadi, India. It is prepared from rice using a dum method of cooking. Dose is an indian dish originating from South Indian. It is a cooked flat thin layered rice batter made from fermented batter. It's main ingredients are black gram, and rice grounded together making it a fine smooth batter with a little salt.
The Wonders Of Pakistan
Have you ever been to Pakistan? Did you know that two Pakistanis have won the Nobel Peace Prize? Abdus Salam won the prize for contributing to the “electroweak unification theory”, and Malala Yousafzai a women's education activist won the prize as the ever winner at 17 years old. Malala even has books written about her which is a huge feat.
The name Pakistan derives of two words “pak” which means “holy” in Persian and “istan” which means “a place” in Hindi. The full name would basically be the holy place. Another fun fact about Pakistan is that its national anthem was ranked as one of the best anthems in the world. Overall Pakistan is a really interesting place. Do you want to visit Pakistan someday?
Interesting India
Interesting India
There are tons of interesting things to do in India. You can go to the Taj Mahal in Agra. The Taj Mahal was commissioned in 1632 by Shah Jahan. It is located on the banks of the Yamuna river. It was made as a tomb for his favorite wife. Another interesting place that you can visit in Delhi, is Red Fort. Red Fort was the headquarters of the Mughals.
When you’re in India you can get some biryani that can include meat, eggs, or vegetables. Or you could get the traditional meal; a roti (whole wheat flatbread) with rice and dal(lentil soup). But watch out the food is very very spicy so don’t try it unless you can handle lots of spice. After reading this, would you like to go to India someday?
